I’m Eleanor Hart, and Justice Law Hub is where I share what I’ve learned over more than a decade of practising law in England. My work has always been about helping people make sense of legal situations that feel overwhelming or confusing. For the past several years, that’s meant focusing almost entirely on one thing: property.
Early in my career, I handled a broad mix of civil cases — contract disputes, family matters, personal injury claims. That variety taught me how legal principles touch everyday life in unexpected ways. But time and again, the questions my clients asked most urgently were about their homes. Buying a first flat, renewing a tenancy, dealing with a boundary disagreement, understanding the small print in a leasehold contract. It became clear that property law wasn’t just a niche — it was the area where clear, practical guidance mattered most.
So I specialised. Today, as a solicitor focused on residential real estate, I help people navigate the legal side of buying, selling, renting, and owning property in England. Justice Law Hub is the natural extension of that work — a place where I can answer the questions that come up again and again, in plain English, without the jargon.
What you’ll find here
- Buying and selling a home — from making an offer to exchanging contracts and completing the purchase, with clear explanations of the conveyancing process.
- Renting and tenancy agreements — rights and responsibilities of landlords and tenants, deposit protection, and what to do when things go wrong.
- Property ownership and your rights — freehold vs leasehold, service charges, extending a lease, and dealing with neighbours.
- Taxes and costs — Stamp Duty Land Tax, capital gains, and other expenses that catch people out.
- Common legal pitfalls — the mistakes I’ve seen people make, and how to avoid them.
Everything on Justice Law Hub is written with one goal in mind: to give you the knowledge you need to make confident decisions about property.
